Classic Pot Roast With Gravy

4½ lb. boneless rolled beef
roast (sirloin tip, rump, chuck, or blade roast)
1 envelope instant onion soup mix
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 c. water
Preheat oven to 300º F.
Place roast in large oven safe dish or small roasting pan.
Sprinkle the entire packet of onion soup mix over roast. Empty the
can of mushroom soup around roast. Add water and mix
gently. Cook for 4 - 4½ hours according to desired
level of doneness. Makes 8-10 servings.
